Quick SimpliSafe setup

Today we look at SimpliSafe… the wireless home security system that is pretty easy to set up (check out our short video below).

We ordered a kit that included:

Base station: This is an electrically powered, battery backed up, device that needs to communicate with all the sensors, detectors and keypad. It needs to be centrally located.

Key pad: This is the first device that you set up as it is needed to set up all others. Setup is simple… pull the battery tab to turn on the device and walk through the on screen instructions.

Door/window sensor: These sensors are in two parts and are contact sensors… move one part far enough away from the other part and you trigger the alarm.

Motion sensor: This two inch square device can sit on a shelf or be mounted to a wall. The motion sensor is shaped to accommodate both a corner or the flat part of the wall.

Panic button: This device is used to trigger the system in emergencies.

All mountable devices have sticky strips and optional screws to help hold them in place. The system can be monitored professionally or not. If not, you are relying on the base station’s 105Db siren.
